My Why

I'm a chronic elbow leaner and as such I've worn out the elbow of a jumper or two. I tried using needle punching, it didn't hold up, I cut out knit fabric from and old commercial jumper, the edges looked funky, so I figured I'd knit one.

I did, but not by hand - on my knit machine - I can't knit by hand, my brain short circuits. I managed to knit something decent but then asked myself “ Can I make it pretty?” Add to that, that I had moth holes in my cashmere jumper I wanted to make the mend look good.

I tried visible mending- it wasn’t as neat as I’d have liked so now I’ve put some flowers on the mending spots. I’ve designed and made these daisy flowers myself, and I’m in talks with some sourcing companies in the hopes to make some different designs of mine.

I’ll keep you posted.
